The Australian Institute for Nanoscience – Sydney University
Sydney University has recently undertaken construction of a new 10,000 M2 state of the art building adjacent to the current Physics building which will house The Australian Institute for Nanoscience. The AIN building will contain:
- World class precision laboratories
- Cleanrooms and microscope suites
- Sustainable office design
- A café, green roof, breakout spaces and a cycling facility.
JustMats were selected to provide various floor finishes to the project, including the entrance mats, stair nosings and tactile indicators.
RolaDek entrance mats were used at all the entrance exit points of the building, chosen for their:
- State of the art technology
- Custom fabrication to suit the individual clients specification
- Rolling load testing to 160 k/g wheel
- Open system allowing for dirt and water to funnel through to the mat well
- Unique ability to roll up 180 degrees for simple cleaning
Vinyl stair nosings were used on all stair cases in the building, chosen for their:
- Ability to reduce slips and falls
- Enhancement of egress speed
- Easy application and cleaning and maintenance
- Strong protection of stair edges
- Provision of an extra non slip surface
UV stabilised polyurethane polymer individual tactile indicators were used at every stair case and ramp, chosen for their:
- Integrity and longevity of the tactile stud
- Cost effective solution
- Slip resistance ability
- Safety in allowing the visually impaired to navigating around the built environment
JustMats are committed to ensuring environmentally sound practices whilst providing practical based Australian standard solutions
